Greetings from the Chairman of the Board

People treat fetuses conceived in their own womb as if they own the unborn children. Moreover, some even go as far as ending such lives through abortion. One may believe that abortion will enable her to avoid the present situation and make things better. This satisfaction must be eternal, pleasant and meaningful--but is it? "Queen of All Media" Oprah Winfrey was born to a single mother, molested when she was 9 and gaive birth when she was 14.
Her life changed through the loving care of her stepfather, coming to realize the world was filled with warmth, compassion and comfort. Today, Oprah is the world's No. 1 African-American philanthropist, an entrepreneur and an individual who warms the hearts of television viewers as a talk-show host and mentor.
It is my hope that society will grow to respect life via relevant national policies, enhanced national awareness and the expansion of a culture in which human life is valued--ultimately developing into the extinction of abortion.
I would like to express my deep appreciation to the directors, members and sponsors for supporting our efforts.

Greetings from the President

Everyone agrees that life is precious and should be respected above all else.
We have learned that all lives innately have value regardless of their conditions such as poverty, physical or mental disability, different skin color or religion, etc.
That is why we have been advocating life which has been discriminated throughout history, and have been striving to create a society in which all lives are respected.
However, the society in which we take part dismisses the very truth we have been pursuing, wrongly teaching that the value of each life varies depending on its circumstances.
Such people argue that the preborn child can be excluded from the object of respect, when necessary, because the inhabiting space of a fetus is its mother's womb, because it must be protected by its mother during a certain period of time and because it is yet unseen before our eyes.
Withouth developing childbirth and childcare support measures, the government and society discourage people to become a parent if they are not backed by a socioeconomic environment to raise their children.
Times are tough for those protecting lives.
Still, we believe that the laws of life never change over time.
We also firmly believe that a world in which all lives are valued must be created.
Therefore, Korea Pro-life will continue its steadfast efforts to provide education on the value of life, counseling for women in crisis and protection for the preborn children and their mothers.
All lives are precious and beautiful.
Not a single human being can be abandoned.
I look forward to our society transforming into a life-respecting society once again.

Ham Soo-Yeon, President of Korea Pro-life
